Essay Contest Winners

Ho-hum. Another essay contest, another Academy sweep.

For the second consecutive year, the Academy has claimed both the 1st and 2nd place spots at the Post level. Finishing in first place is Renata Lee '20. Finishing in second place is Molly McKenna '21. Renata's essay will now move on to the regional level, with a chance at winning a $30,000 scholarship in the national contest. The Voice of Democracy contest is more than 70 years old, and asks high school students to submit a written and recorded essay on a patriotic theme. This year's prompt is "Why My Vote Matters."

Congratulations to our award-winning writers! Special thanks to Mr. Mayer for spearheading the essay contest effort here at the Academy. We are building a dynasty; this is our fourth consecutive year appearing in the top three.
