Miss Eileen O’Rourke served as a teacher, friend, coach and mentor for 46 years at the Academy of Saint Elizabeth. When she died in the Fall of 2021 her scholarship fund which was originally created to celebrate her retirement was converted to a memorial scholarship fund. After receiving nearly $10,000 in contributions a young woman enrolling with the Class of 2026 was awarded a $2,500, 4 year scholarship. The scholarship recipient’s mother is an alumna and attended the Academy during Miss O’Rourke’s multi-generational tenure making this way of giving back especially meaningful and keeps her legacy alive.
